Description of Operations
The Minocqua Chain of Lakes, Minocqua, Wisconsin consists of 5 scenic lakes surrounded by state forest, wetlands and big pine trees. The shoreline has both modern lake homes and many cottages dating from the 1920s and 1930s along with beautiful resorts and lively restaurants. All five lakes have at least one or more Eagles nests with Osprey (also known as The Fish Hawk) competing for fishing territories. Loons are easy to find in many of the quite bays. The water is very clear and the lake bottom has great structure with much of it being sand. The total surface acres is 5,805 along with 57.6 miles of shoreline to explore! It can take a knowledgeable boater an entire weekend to see and enjoy it all. To add to the scenery there are roughly 13 islands throughout the Minocqua chain of Lakes. Some of the islands are privately owned with a few that are state owned giving those islands public access. There are also many undeveloped areas along the shore that have been unchanged since the big logging era over 100 years ago.
